I would love to be able to post a definitive price list here. Really I would. But I'm afraid there's no 'one size fits all' approach to pricing what I proofread.
Every project is different, and I take the time to understand my client's requirements before providing a quote. It's important for me to have as much information as possible relating to a number of factors.
If you would like to discuss a particular project then please get in touch for a quote.
So here's the sorts of things I need to know:
What type of document is it? Academic publication, novel, thesis/dissertation, company brochure, CV, etc.?
Is it very complex? For example, a significant number of references, or lots of tables and illustrations.
What is the word count?
When would you like me to start? And when would like it back? I do get booked up in advance by clients, so giving me as much notice as possible is hugely helpful. I love my job, but I don't work 24/7 (I need some downtime...) So if you have a very tight deadline, which may require working in the evenings or at weekends, then please be aware that this will be reflected in the price.
Are you able to send me a sample (or the whole document) to evaluate? Having a sample is really useful, as I can quickly assess how long it will take to complete the proofread.
